Does ChatGPT Provide Inconsistent Answers to the Same Question a Week Later? Let’s Explore and My Concluding Remarks!

The author conducted an experiment to test whether ChatGPT provides varying responses to the same question when asked with a week's gap. The author used the initial question from previous conversations and obtained a different response. Following that, the author requested ChatGPT to evaluate whether its answers were fluctuating or inconsistent. Here are the findings of the experiment.

College, STEM, and H-1B

Author: Hi there, today I like to talk to you about College Education and the importance of concentrating on STEM. I think students shouldn't go to college to get just a degree, wishfully thinking that the labor force will accept them with open arms. The needs of the labor force have dramatically changed in recent times, demanding STEM education manifold higher than its business and humanities counterparts. Do you agree with me?

ChatGPT Answer 1: Yes, I completely agree. STEM education is becoming more and more important for the modern labor force as new technologies continue to be developed. By focusing on STEM courses in college, students can gain valuable skills that will make them competitive when searching for a job and are essential to succeeding in many career fields.

ChatGPT Answer 2: Yes, I agree with you. STEM education is becoming increasingly important in the labor force because of its ability to provide students with the skills and knowledge needed for a successful career. With more jobs requiring technical skills, it's essential that students focus on strengthening their STEM-based learning in order to be competitive in today's job market.

Author: You provided two answers to the same question I asked a week apart. Do you see any inconsistency?

ChatGPT: No, I do not see any inconsistency in the answers provided. Both answers provide a clear and comprehensive understanding of why STEM education is becoming increasingly important in the labor force.

How will AI Complement Wall Street in Coming Years – A Conversation with ChatGPT

Equity and Bond Analysts

Author: Trained equity and bond market analysts have always been in very high demand, while the best and brightest are celebrities, drawing sizable compensation packages. But given how AI has been reshaping research and data modeling, will they be in demand in the coming years? I fear the vast majority of them will be made redundant. Your thoughts?

ChatGPT: I think that the demand for equity and bond market analysts will remain in high demand, but with a greater emphasis on data-driven insights. As AI continues to become more sophisticated, it can help provide more accurate predictions and analysis of markets. However, this doesn't mean that human analysts will be made redundant; instead they can use their expertise to interpret the data provided by AI and develop better strategies for businesses and investors. In conclusion, while there may be some displacement of roles due to automation, human analysts still have an important role to play in investment decisions.

Author: Fair enough! But their training is generally in finance, with MBA (Finance), CFA, etc., and virtually no in-depth training in data sciences, so that it will be a sea change for them. Can they promptly adapt to it and still maintain their relevance internally and prominence externally?
